Ingredients
1 1/2 c Split Peas (picked over and rinsed)
7 c water
1 bn broccoli (trimmed & coarsely chopped)
2 onion (chopped)
3 carrots (sliced)
2 zucchini (sliced)
1/4 c Tamari
1/2 c tahini
2 t chili powder
1 t ground cumin
Directions
Combine 6 cups of water and the split peas in a large pot, add the onions, broccoli, carrots & zucchini and bring to boil over a medium heat. Cover and simmer on a reduced heat, stir occasionally until peas are very soft, aprox 1 1/2 hours. In the meantime in a food processor, add the remaining 1 cup water and remaining ingredients, process until smooth. Stir the tahini in to the soup and serve immediately.
