Red Ginger Zinger

Delicious hot or cold, this is sure to boost your energy while warding off colds and flues.

Avoid licorice if you have high blood pressure. Red raspberry is a tonic for the uterus; red clover and licorice are protective phytoestrogens; licorice has strong anti-viral properties and supports the adrenal glands; ginger warms the body, moves the blood and acts as an anti-inflammatory.

Ingredients

1 litre water, boiling in large saucepan
4 tsp dried red raspberry (or 4 teabags)
4 tsp dried red clover (or 4 teabags)
3 slices of ginger root, ¼ inch thick
6 cups water, boiling in small saucepan
2 can frozen peach juice

 

Directions

Drop the dried herbs in a litre of boiling water.
Cover and allow the tea to steep on simmer for fifteen minutes.
Meanwhile, peel and slice the ginger root. Add to a separate saucepan of boiling water. Reduce the heat to low and gently simmer for ten minutes.
Pour the organic apple juice into a large jug. Into the same jug, strain the herb tea and the ginger root liquid. Stir well. Refrigerate if desired. Serve hot or cold.
